The long-running medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” will return this fall, to the American station ABC, with season 17, after season 16 ended abruptly, filming being stopped in the spring due to the pandemic.
More and more information about future episodes is starting to appear. First, season 17 of the series will address, among other topics, the coronavirus pandemic, the producers announced.
Secondly, the producers of “Grey’s Anatomy” are conducting intense negotiations with the actors in the cast, to extend the contracts. The protagonist Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Gray) is now negotiating for the next seasons, her contract expires at the end of the 17th.
Three other actors in the cast, whose contracts expired in the spring, recently signed for another three years (ie until season 19 inclusive): Kevin McKidd (Dr. Owen Hunt), Camilla Luddington (Dr. Jo Wilson) and Kim Raver (Dr. Teddy Altman). They would have received substantial salary increases to stay in the series.
