The American band Red Hot Chili Peppers, recently returned by guitarist John Frusciante, is working on a new album, confirmed drummer Chad Smith.
For Rolling Stone magazine, Smith said: “We are excited. The 2020 festivals are not the only established shows. For now, we are mainly focusing on new songs and a new album. We are all very excited to make new music. ”
Asked if RHCP is already working on a new album, Chad Smith simply replied: “Yes. That’s all I can say. ”
The most recent album released by RHCP is “The Getaway” (2016), sold in over 1.3 million copies worldwide.
Confirmed for this year are the band’s appearances at the Hangout Music Festival, BottleRock and Boston Calling.
In December 2019, guitarist John Frusciante returned with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, after the band announced that Josh Klinghoffer is no longer part of the group.
The rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers was established in Los Angeles in 1983. The musical style of the California band mainly combines rock and funk with punk, metal and rap influences. The group has won seven Grammy Awards and released 11 studio albums, which have been sold to over 80 million children worldwide. Six other Grammy Awards, three Brit Awards, and four American Music Awards include the Grammar Award. The band currently consists of Flea (bass), Anthony Kiedis (vocals), John Frusciante (guitar) and Chad Smith (drums).
