The latest project involving Prince Harry is ‘Rising Phoenix’, a Netflix documentary on the history of the Paralympic Games.
When he relinquished his position in the British royal family, Prince Harry made it clear that he would not give up the humanitarian causes he supported. Recently, he borrowed the voice of the Netflix documentary that tells the extraordinary story of the Paralympic Games and the history of this competition, which has become the third most important sporting event in the world.
The prince, who launched the Invictus Games in 2014, a similar competition dedicated to wounded soldiers at the front, in theaters of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, has supported the ‘Rising Phoenix’ project from the beginning. “There is nothing more appropriate in the world than sports to cure you of traumas,” his voice says in the trailer of the documentary. Prince Harry also appears in a short sequence in which he talks about the impact of the Paralympic Games on the participants, but also on those who watch them.
Directed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui, the documentary follows internationally renowned athletes, from South African runner Ntando Mahlangu to Australian swimmer and basketball player Ellie Cole. The documentary “Reborn from the Ashes: The History of the Paralympic Games” will be available on Netflix starting August 26.
