Gaga will play Patrizia Reggiani, Maurizio Gucci’s ex-wife. Reggiani was left after 12 years of marriage by Maurizio Gucci, in 1985, to a younger woman.
Patrizia Reggiani was tried and convicted for having committed the murder of her former husband in 1995. She was named Black Widow during the trial. He was sentenced to 18 years, being released from prison in 2016.
For Lady Gaga it is the second role in the movie after the one in “A Star is Born”, directed by Bradley Cooper. She was nominated for an Oscar for her performance and won an Oscar for writing the song “Shallow” on the soundtrack.
The story of Gucci’s murder is written by Roberto Bentivegna, based on the book “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamor, and Greed,” by Sara Gay Forden.
Scott will produce the film, along with Giannina Scott and Scott Free Productions.
Recently, Ridley Scott directed “All the Money in the World” about the abduction of John Paul Getty III. Scott was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Director in “Thelma & Louise”, “Gladiator” and “Black Hawk Down” and for “Best Movie” – “The Martian”. He directs the historical drama “The Last Duel” with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Adam Driver for Disney-Fox.
