Justin Chambers leaves the series “Grey’s Anatomy” after 15 years

Chambers played the role of Alex Karev, who became during the 16 seasons, a pediatric surgeon. The episode released on November 14, 2019, was the last one for him in the series, even though the filmmakers didn’t understand it.

“There is no good time to say goodbye to a show and character that have defined my life so much over the last 15 years,” said Chambers in a statement quoted by Variety. “For some time, I hoped to diversify my roles and career choices. And, reaching my 50th birthday, blessed with a remarkable wife and encouraging me and five wonderful children, now is the time. ”

He thanked the ABC family, Shonda Rhimes, the creator and executive producer of the series, the actors Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens, along with whom he played, the entire team and the fans.

In the 16th season of “Grey’s Anatomy”, Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Kevin McKidd, Jesse Williams, Caterina Scorsone, Camilla Luddington, Kelly McCreary, Kim Raver, and Giacomo Gianniotti play.

In 2018, “Grey’s Anatomy” became ABC’s longest-running prime-time production.

The first nine episodes of the season with the number 16 were watched, on average, by 6 million viewers between the ages of 18 and 49. In total, the season has 12 episodes.

Chambers has also starred in “Broken City” (2013), starring Russell Crowe, “Lakeview Terrace” (2008), Samuel L. Jackson, and “The Zodiac” (2005).
