Ed Sheeran, the Great Britain’s artist of the decade


Between 2010 and 2019, he had 12 singles ranked first in the UK, more than any other artist, according to the BBC. In addition, he spent most weeks – 79 – in the first place in both the albums and singles rankings.

“Shape Of You” was the most successful song in this period, with 14 weeks spent in the first place and was sold to over 4.5 million children.

Ed Sheeran is on the list of the most successful singles of the decade with three tracks: “Shape of You”, “Thinking Out Loud” (third place) and “Perfect”, fifth place.

In total, at the top of the singles, Sheeran spent 38 weeks in the first place, and his songs were sold to 53.8 million children. In the UK alone, his songs have been accessed online more than 4.6 billion times.

Regarding the ranking of the albums, “X” is ranked third, followed by “Divide”, fourth.

In the album ranking of the decade, Adele occupies the first two positions with “21” (2011) and “25” (2015).

The British artist’s second album, “21”, was sold to 5.17 million children. He debuted first and spent 23 weeks at that position.

“25” spent 13 weeks at the top of the charts and was the fastest-selling album in the UK, with 800,307 copies in the first week (November 2015).

The only woman still in the top 10 is Emeli Sande, in eighth place, with “Our Version of Events”.
