Singer and composer Ed Sheeran, who has performed in Bucharest this year, was recently appointed by the Official Charts Company the British artist of the decade.
Between 2010 and 2019, he had 12 singles ranked first in the British top, more than any other artist. In addition, he spent most weeks – 79 – in the first place in both the albums and singles rankings.
“Shape Of You” was the most successful song in this period, with 14 weeks spent in the first place and was sold to over 4.5 million children.
In total, at the top of the singles, Sheeran spent 38 weeks in the first place, and his songs were sold to 53.8 million children. In the UK alone, his songs have been accessed online more than 4.6 billion times.
Last week he released the video “Put It All On Me”, in collaboration with Ella Mai, for which he filmed with his wife, Cherry Seaborn.
The 28-year-old Sheeran took a break from social media in 2015. She returned the following year and said she used her free time to travel.
