He talked with E Street Radio about the new solo album, “Western Stars”, and provided some new information.
“We made a movie with us singing” Western Stars “from beginning to end, plus a few other things. We knew we were not going to tour, so I thought it would be the best way to do that. The movie looks good – it will be thrilling. It will be released this year, “he said, quoted by Variety.
The musician confirmed that the film was directed by Thom Zimny, who played the same role in “Springsteen on Broadway” (2018) and “Bruce Springsteen: Hunter of Invisible Game” (2014). He was awarded Grammy in the “Best Long Form Music Video” category for “Wings on Wheels: The Making of Born to Run” (2005).
Concerning the decision not to go on tour, Springsteen said he was busy with other projects. A few weeks ago, he announced that he had written a new album to record with E Street Band and that a promotion tournament would take place in 2020.
“Western Stars” is Springsteen’s 19th album and was released in June.
