The idea for a “remake” of the famous series, which will be produced by Will Smith, a little older to play the role of a casual teenager, will be directed by Morgan Cooper, a fan of the series who filmed and released a trailer last year ( of a fictitious project) of four minutes.
“A brilliant idea,” Will Smith commented at the time, welcoming this “dramatic version of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air for the new generation.”
The project is now being developed by Westbrook Studios, Will Smith’s production house, and Universal TV.
Currently, the project is purchased by several networks, including HBO Max, which broadcasts the original series.
Instead of comic 20-minute episodes, it will be 60-minute, with a dramatic tone.
